Frequently asked questions
Treatment in China: your questions answered.
Understand the three stages, specialist matching, payment relationships, medical boundaries and what to share in the free case review.
01Are you a hospital or medical provider?
+
No. China Care is an independent cross-border patient coordination service. Diagnosis, medical advice and treatment decisions are made by licensed clinicians and medical institutions. Read our medical role and boundaries.
02What kinds of cases do you support?
+
You can enquire about consultations, examinations, planned surgery or other non-emergency care in China. We discuss your needs and confirm the doctors, hospital arrangements and practical support we can offer case by case. An enquiry does not guarantee that a service can be arranged. We do not handle emergencies. Explore patient coordination support.
03Do you offer doctor options for free?
+
Yes. We first discuss your treatment intentions and share potential doctors based on objective information such as field, hospital setting and availability. You choose whether to continue with one. This is not a clinical recommendation or guarantee of acceptance. Start your free case review.
04What does the remote consultation cost?
+
The fee is USD 200 per remote consultation with your chosen doctor. It includes the doctor’s consultation fee, translation of all necessary medical records for the consultation, the doctor’s advance case review and interpretation during the consultation. There are no extra fees for that session. A consultation with another doctor or a follow-up is a new session at USD 200. We confirm the time and rescheduling terms in writing before booking. Multidisciplinary consultations have a separately agreed scope and fee. Compare consultation fees and included services.
05Who receives each payment?
+
Pay China Care USD 200 per remote consultation, including the doctor’s fee and consultation support. For treatment in China, China Care provides a written, itemised list of services and prices. The hospital collects medical charges separately and provides a clear, itemised bill. Review payment arrangements.
06Is the pre-arrival treatment plan final?
+
No. It is based on the records available before travel. The treating hospital may change the procedure, timing or cost after an in-person assessment or additional examinations. Material changes should be explained before you approve them, except when urgent care is necessary. See how a treatment journey is planned.
07Can I upload medical files in the first form?
+
Yes, if you wish. You can attach up to 3 relevant PDF reports or JPG/PNG images, up to 5 MB each. Uploading is optional: you can submit your enquiry without files. Attachments are sent with your final submission and consent; they are not automatically shared with doctors. We will contact you if further records are needed. Read how enquiry files and consent are handled.
08Should I book flights before the consultation?
+
No. Keep travel flexible until the specialist consultation is complete and the proposed hospital schedule is confirmed in writing. Review the steps before travelling.
09What visa do I need?
+
For a trip primarily for medical treatment, an S2 private affairs visa is normally required. We will help you obtain key supporting documents from the medical institution, such as an invitation letter. For straightforward care during a holiday, such as simple dental or eye treatment, we have not identified explicit official guidance covering these mixed-purpose trips. Some travellers report receiving care on tourist visas. We can discuss your situation case by case and help you check the applicable requirements with the relevant Chinese embassy, consulate or immigration authority. Visa approval remains with the authorities. Explore treatment and travel planning.
10Do you handle emergencies?
+
No. This website is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services immediately. For active clients, we may support communication and hospital navigation while all clinical decisions remain with licensed professionals. Read the emergency care boundary.
11Can you guarantee acceptance, a bed, price or outcome?
+
No. We coordinate the process but cannot guarantee immigration decisions, provider acceptance, scheduling, final medical charges, clinical results or insurance reimbursement. Read service terms and responsibilities.
12Can a family member enquire on my behalf?
+
Yes. A family member can contact us for you. The form keeps the contact person’s name separate from the patient’s name; both are optional at the first enquiry. Only share someone else’s information with their permission or appropriate authority. An enquiry does not authorise sharing health information with external doctors or other providers. Enquire for yourself or a family member.
13How do medical translation and interpretation work?
+
The USD 200 remote specialist consultation includes translation of all necessary medical records for that session, the doctor’s advance case review and live interpretation. For a treatment journey in China, language support and other coordination services are listed in the individual written quote. Confirm the language and scope with us before booking. Explore medical language support.
